Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Shelton Life LLC, which operates Ankurun ("we", "us"), collects when you use the Ankurun app and ankurun.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: support@ankurun.com.
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, password (stored by our sign-in provider, never by us in readable form), name, and, if you sign in with a third-party account, the name, email and profile picture that service shares.
- Profile: your profile photo and background, mantra, city, region, company, school and any other profile details you add, and who can see each.
- Content: bonds (title, pier, people, time, length and an optional place), ratings, posts, comments, reactions, photos and videos you add, and lives you go live with or save.
- Connections: friends, friend requests, follows, groups and people you block or report.
- Purchases: if you buy a paid service, what you bought, when, its price and the app store's transaction number, so we can give you its credits and handle refunds. Payment is made through the app store; we never receive your card or bank details.
- Messages to us: what you send to support or safety.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage: app version, device type, operating system, language, IP address, and the actions you take in the app (for example, creating a bond), kept as an activity log for security and support.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes, a report of what went wrong (device type, operating system, app version and the code that failed) goes to our crash reporting provider so we can fix it. It doesn't include your posts, photos or messages.
- Push tokens: if you allow notifications, a token that lets us send alerts to your device.
- Location: only the place you choose to attach to a bond, rounded to about 100 meters. We do not track your location in the background.
- Camera and microphone: used only while you take a photo, record a video or go live.
- Advertising: the app shows ads through an advertising provider, which may collect your device's advertising identifier and usage data to show and measure ads. On iPhone you choose whether apps may track you.
How we use information
- To run Ankurun: sign you in, show your bonds, friends, feed, rankings and lives to the people you allow.
- To send notifications you have turned on.
- To keep people safe: review reports, enforce our Community Guidelines, and prevent abuse and fraud.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
- To show ads in the app.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who can see your content
You choose an audience for bonds, posts and photos: private, friends or public. A live is visible to the stricter of the bond participants' choices. A live is saved only when everyone in the bond agrees, and any participant can delete a saved live. People you block cannot see your profile or content.

We share information only with providers that run parts of Ankurun for us, under contracts that limit their use of it:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your information as described on Delete your account, except what we must keep by law or for safety, for up to 2 years.
Your choices and rights
- Change your profile, audiences and notification settings in the app.
- Download or correct your information, or ask what we hold, by emailing support@ankurun.com.
- Delete your account at any time in the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, our APIs are reachable only through our gateway, and access is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.
Children
Ankurun is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email support@ankurun.com and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes
We will post any change here and update the date above. For significant changes we will tell you in the app first.
