Terms of Service
Effective October 15, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Shelton Life LLC, which operates Ankurun ("we", "us"), for using the Ankurun app and ankurun.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Ankurun
You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. You must give accurate account information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
2. Your content
You own the content you add, such as bonds, photos, videos, lives, posts and comments. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, show and share it only to run and improve the Service, and only with the audiences you choose. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others saved under these terms, backups for up to 30 days, and what we must keep by law.
You must have the right to share what you post, including the agreement of people who appear in your photos, videos and lives.
3. Acceptable use
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must follow our Community Guidelines. You must not:
- harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or post hateful, sexually explicit or violent content;
- post content involving minors in a sexual or harmful way;
- record or save anyone without their agreement;
- break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy;
- spam, scrape, reverse engineer, overload or try to get around our security or limits.
We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and may remove content and suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
4. Live video
When you go live, people allowed by the bond's audience can watch. A live is saved only when everyone in the bond agrees. Do not go live in places where recording is not allowed.
5. Ads
The Service shows ads. We are not responsible for advertisers' products or sites.
6. Paid services
Some services in the app, such as a review of a disputed rating, cost money. You buy them in the app through the app store you got Ankurun from, which charges you, under its terms, and handles refunds. A purchase gives you credits for that service, used when you ask for it. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and end when your account is deleted. If the app store refunds a purchase, its credits are removed. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Some services, such as Ankurun companion, are subscriptions. A subscription may start with a free trial; unless you cancel before the trial ends, you are charged when it ends. It renews automatically for the same period and price until you cancel it in your app store account settings, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription with the app store, so cancel it there too.
7. Our service
We may change, pause or stop parts of the Service. The Ankurun name, logo and app are ours and protected by law; these terms do not give you any right to use them apart from using the Service.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect others. Sections 2 (for content already shared), 9, 10, 11 and 12 continue after your account ends.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Rankings and ratings reflect people's opinions, not facts about anyone.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of USD 100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them locally.
12. General
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, are the whole agreement between us about the Service. We will post changes here and, for significant changes, tell you in the app first.
Apple App Store
If you got the app from Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no duty to provide support or maintenance, and, to the extent the law allows, no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo, and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
